Old Timey Dating
Thank goodness for
acne medications or I'm guessing there would be a lot fewer married nerds. Being a nerd myself, I'm thankful to have outgrown my acne in time to get married but I'm guessing that not all in history were quite so lucky.
I wonder what home remedies and treatments people used back in the old days in order to make themselves more presentable? I'm guessing some worked but I don't know much about the subject. Clearly more people are able to procreate these days thanks to medication, better nutrition, and better hygiene products.
So what do we do when we run out of space and materials?
New Rules
I really love Lou Schuler as an author and fitness expert. I credit him with getting on the right path when it comes to working out and using my exercise time as wisely as possible. He wrote a book called "The New Rules of Lifting", which I found to be a really great resource.
Next to address the needs of a
fat burner for women he wrote a version for the ladies called "The New Rules of Lifting for Women". I highly recommend if you are starting out to read the appropriate book. There is a lot of good insight that won't seem sensible to someone from the old school, but trust me, it's way better for you in the long run.
How Does That Work?
There are plenty of times in life that we use something without having a clue how it works or where it came from. Some people are more like this than others but we all do it to some degree. For instance, I recently learned a lot about salt and pepper and how they became the icons that they are today. How much do you really know about them?
Take the
top wrinkle creams. Does anyone really understand this stuff? I mean, other than the scientists that created them. It doesn't make sense to me that something could easily undo a wrinkle that has taken years of repetitive motion to create.
Projects
Every time I have an idea I seem to get bogged down in all the details. I have a problem with isolating an idea from the minutiae. I get too concerned with how unimportant details will work out than with making the core framework sound and so I tend to give up too early.
Clearly I have a problem with
scopes. It would be better for me to focus on getting a basic structure up and running and then add to and then worry about the details later. Even if the details then cause a redesign. At least I have experience at that point. So how do I get my brain on board with this new plan?
Diet Help
I came across one of the
best weight loss supplements out there. It's incredibly healthy for you and it if you eat enough of them then you are bound to lose weight. The supplements are called mangoes. There is another called broccoli.
I really feel that people would be a lot better off to replace a few junk items a week with these types of foods. I think that doing this would open the door to feeling better and losing weight to the degree that people would be more willing to change their lifestyles.
What do you think?
Consumer Reports
I know that you can look up consumer reports for most items you want to buy but I've never seen a way to do that with food items. You know, things you might actually "consume". I'd love to see reviews on what the grocery store offers or the latest
weight loss supplement reviews. These sorts of things would be pretty useful to people.
Now in the words of Scott Adams, I expect someone to tell me that this is actually being done already and point me to where it is.
High Jump
I was a decent high jumper in High School. I wasn't great but I was better at that than I was at most of the sports I tried. I have never cleared any
steel buildings but I could get up pretty high. I've always wondered how much better I might have been if I had trained properly in the weight room to increase my vertical. I know that I could have gotten it higher but I wonder by how much. Would it have been a noticeable difference or marginal? One thing that would be a good litmus test would be dunking. I have dunked in my prime but rarely with a full sized basketball. In my hay day I could dunk a volleyball with ease though. I can't really do that anymore but I'm wondering if I trained the right way could I get that back or be even better in my 30's? Maybe I should give it a shot.
Back In The Saddle
I'm trying very hard to get back in the saddle. I've been slacking terribly on my workouts and healthy eating and it shows. I've gained about 10 pounds, and I don't feel nearly as good as I did. Definitely time to get back on the horse, so to speak.
I'm not making any huge changes diet-wise. I just am trying to resist the junk food urges more than I have been doing and cut back on pop. If I can do those things my diet will be back to being pretty passable. So chances are you won't find me on
www.AppetiteSuppressants.comMy main change is that I'm trying to get back to lifting. I got frustrated at my lack of progress and that caused me to take a ton of time off, but starting today I'm getting back at it. Clearly that was helping me more that I realized.
Mattress Shopping
I'm in the market for a new mattress. I'm not sure when I'm going to buy one but I know that I need to sooner rather than later. I don't know much about the latest mattress "technologies" such as independent springs or the infamous
memory foam mattress.
I'm thinking that unless I come across something that is very convincing, I will probably just go with a standard style because I already know what that feels like. So let me know what you think. I'd love to get all the info I can before making a decision.
Guy Humor
For some reason that I don't fully understand, bathroom humor is almost universally funny to guys. Even the guys that have controlled themselves enough to convince the women in their lives that they "aren't one of those guys". The truth is that almost all guys get a laugh out of a loud, nasty,
colon cleanser rip.
What possible reason could there be for this? I can't even really describe why it's funny but it almost always is. Ladies I apologize but the truth is we will always find it funny. Even if we somehow convince you with our behavior that we have "risen above" that kind of thing.
