Healthy Gas?
For some reason some foods affect me in very adverse ways. Sometimes I like to use whey protein shakes after workouts and those always turn me into a gas bag.
Junk food too has always been a gaseous
colon cleanser for me. It is as if it's my body's way of telling me that I have eaten badly for a time. It becomes very obvious to me and anyone within a 30 foot radius that I haven't been picking out the healthy stuff.
The odd thing is that I generally hear the opposite from people. That healthy food actually causes them to be stuck in the center of a rank nebulous.
Amusing
Where do people come up with product names like
nuphedra ? I don't have a problem with the name for any reason, it just makes me laugh sometimes when drug companies come up with names that almost sound like normal words but not quite. Normally it is a play on the ingredients involved or has some other similar meaning, but wouldn't it be fun to sit in on a brainstorming session where the execs are trying to come up with these? I imagine the ideas that are thrown out are probably comic gold.
Baseball
I've never been much of a baseball fan. I watch the post season if the Indians or Reds are in but that's about it. I do have to say though, that the drug problems have nearly ruined the game. In my opinion the nation as a whole was already starting to lose interest and this stuff hasn't helped.
Now Manny has been caught. He was already the asbestos to baseball's cancer, but now it's worse. I think it's only a matter of time until a lot of the big name players from the last 10-15 years are exposed.
The odd thing is how little it has affected other sports in the eyes of the fans. Why is it a bigger deal for Manny to get caught then Shaun Merrian? No one cared that he cheated. What's the difference?
Did You See That?
I just watched the finale of the Biggest Loser and I noticed something. Despite the big money available for endorsements and their obvious desire to sell out whenever possible, they never once backed a diet pill on the show. Never!
No
Lipovox, no Dexatrim, no Hydroxycut, or any other brand.
Why would they do that? Do they not like money? Or is it that they understand the hard truth. There isn't any way besides hard work and exercise. Those pills don't work, or if they do they help you lose some scale weight but it comes back because you aren't conditioning your body through the right procedures.
Quit looking for the magic pill and get to work.
Big Dave
I really like the way that Dave Ramsey approaches personal finance. I've changed a lot about how I do things to be more inline with his ideas about money management. We are steadily working to pay off our debts and not buying anything that we can't pay cash for out of our budget. His book is worth reading, and his website is good if you don't mind some ads about
best term life insurance rates. The link is to something else, but he pushes Zander insurance.
I definitely feel like he could help you. Take a look.
New Approach
I have been trying for a while now to eat more healthily. The strange part is that I thought that I was already doing this, but realized that I could take it to another level. I'm still not perfect but I'm doing a much better job of focusing on healthy foods than before. You can't get enough fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains (our good olde fashioned
colon cleansers).
The results have been pretty interesting. I have continued to get stronger while at the same time I have lost about 7 pounds. I have continued to work out, but with some changes there as well. I'm being more consistent, and listening to my body more. Just last week, my shoulders were sore, so instead of pushing it and ending up with an injury, or quitting and wasting time, I did intervals for a week. Still got some great workouts in while giving myself a chance to heal.
