Bad Memory

Sometimes I wish I could just pop open a panel in my head and slap in a few ddr2 chips to help with my memory. I have a terrible memory. This definitely comes to light for me fairly often as I'm surrounded with people who have good memories. Namely my wife and coworkers. They never forget a detail which always leaves me feeling rather useless when I am convinced of one reality that ends up being a total fiction made up of many parts of misremembered stories haphazardly thrown together by my brain. The worst part is that, over time, I start to really believe these amalgamations and forget that my memory is so bad. Who needs alternate reality? I create my own!

Still Interested

Are you or have you ever taken any of the weight loss pills on the market? There are lots of different brands (ephedra, etc) and I am just curious what affects you have had from them.

If you have any info please leave me a comment as I'm curious to hear some info from real people who have tried these options. I personally never have and I'm not really interested in them other that the academic ideal of understanding more about them in a real world setting.

Thanks in advance, I appreciate the info.

Electric Bill

We have been trying really hard to keep our electric cost down. One of the big ways we have tried to achieve this was by buying a programmable thermostat. Basically we just set it to keep the house a modest temp throughout the day and then cool it down for bedtime. Then when everyone is good and asleep, shut it off again. This was the house is only really cool for the few hours that it is really necessary and we aren't wasting the energy the rest of the day. So far it hasn't been too bad, and we just might keep our electric bills under that of Las Vegas hotels.

I Can Tell

I can tell that we really feel like this house is going to be our permanent home for as long as possible. We have no desire to move and won't do so willingly. Hopefully we will never have to.

The way I know that we feel differently is that we have no unpacked moving boxes left. People always have that it seems and we don't have any. Everything got put away and we haven't even been here a year yet.

I really love where we live now and I have no desire to move again. It's a frustrating and annoying process that I hope to never experience again.

Fresh Face

I really hope that our kids don't suffer from acne the way I did. It was really bad for me for a very long time. I never got any treatment for acne either. I plan to do all I can for our kids if they show signs of getting it. I really don't want them to feel like acne is holding them back like I did.

It was very frustrating and frankly painful to deal with. I just hope that the treatments these days are pretty successful, compared to what I had to work with over the counter. I just hope to be able to prevent some things like this for our kids if I can.

R-U-G

I have been keeping my eye out for area rugs lately. There is a stain on the carpet in our son's room that was there when we bought the house. I'd love to cover that up with a nice rug. At a friends house recently we saw a nice OSU rug that would match the theme of his room.

Now all we have to do is find one. Easier said than done unfortunately. I haven't looked terribly hard but nothing has shown up so far. I'm guessing I will end up surfing the web and hoping for the best. Not a big problem, but one that it would be nice to solve.

Ugh

There are days when I get really discouraged about working out and eating healthy. I feel sometimes like I'm on a treadmill, doing a lot but not going anywhere.

I realize that I'm doing great things for my health and that I'm in good shape but I have yet to feel like I really look the way I want to. I also struggle with setting athletic goals. There isn't any particular athletic sport that I am trying to get better at.

I need to set some real goals and focus on them. Maybe just being able to do a certain number of pullups and chin ups.

Any thoughts?

Need To Eat Less?

Sometimes when you are trying to lose weight, the hard part is your appetite. Some people are just hungrier than others. This is especially true when you are working out regularly. So how do you keep your calories low and not go crazy?

One of the best appetite suppressants I have found is good old fashioned water. When you drink a lot of water, you will feel fuller, and obviously water doesn't make you fat. It does, however, lubricate your whole body and help to remove waste more quickly. Sounds like a win win to me.
