The Draft
I think that I like some of the players that the Browns got in the draft although I think they spent more than they needed to in the form of picks to get them. I also don't like the fact that they didn't draft a WR until the 4th round. That was, in my opinion, their most glaring need.
I was really disappointed by the Weeden pick. He'd better come out of the gait polished and ready to go or it's going to be a quick bust because of his age. They can't afford for him to spend 3 years getting up to speed.
Getting an OL and TE along with Richardson will help the new QB and frankly the offense has nowhere to go but up. As it is, I'll be surprised if we aren't picking in the top 10 again next season. We still have so many holes to fill.
Get it done
No on likes to think about
planning a funeral, but not thinking about it, however pleasant, can cause undue stress and pain for your family after you are gone.
Take the time now to get life insurance, and maybe even create a legacy drawer to help your family make a smooth transition. Get it done and go back to to not thinking about it.
Frankly, I need to do the latter. I haven't really taken the time to put all that stuff together and I know that it's important. I need to go back to the Dave Ramsey site and look up what all needs done. I don't want to mess with it, and I don't know if I will or not, but it is very useful.
Rough Week
It's been a rough week in the staying healthy department. I haven't eaten well or exercised enough and I've just not been feeling all that good. Granted, I'm not shopping for
medline wheelchairs but I'm feeling pretty down about how "well" I've been taking care of myself.
It's just a constant struggle to make good choices and as it is I think I make just enough to maintain but I think I could do so much better if I just could truly change my lifestyle. It's just hard to do that for long periods of time. I just need to realize how much better I feel physically and how much better I feel about myself when I do.
Tester
I have no idea how exactly it can help you but I have heard a lot of claims about
http://www.testosteronesupplements.org/ageless-male/ supplements. Obviously the male body relies alot on the big T for a lot of good things.
Too much of a good thing can be bad too so I'd have to do some research or talk to a doctor before I even considered something like that. Also I'd need a specific reason for wanting to take it. IE having an issue that could be treated in that way.
Perhaps we will learn more about this as time goes on.
Ingram
Most of the experts see the Brown's taking Mark Ingram at #4 in the draft. I'm usually against taking a RB that high because of their short shelf life, but one expert put it best. The Browns aren't worried about 5 years from now, they need talent NOW. Hard to argue with that. Hopefully with the 2 first round picks that they have they can put some people at the skill positions on offense and then fill some other holes later in the draft. I really hope they don't waste a pick on a project QB however.
Business Cards
I've never had a business card, because my profession doesn't really require them. The only time I see others in my line of work using them is to throw them in fishbowls for giveaways at conferences. Not really worth my time to have them just for that.
If you do need them, then how do you stand out? One way would be the material. Most are paper but perhaps try getting your
business cards plastic. That will draw the attention away from the other cards in the fishbowl.
Guitars
Playing guitar has been on my list of things to learn. At one point I started working on it but then we had children and I put it aside. It was fun but I don't know if I have the true love of music to ever make it truly stick.
People have told me though that because I have huge hands, a bass might fit me better. As it is I just can't see myself holding a big Bass guitar. Maybe I'm missing my calling but somehow I doubt it. Not that playing bass isn't cool (see John Cooper), but it just isn't for me.
Shiny Metal
Gold prices are insanely high right now, which has a lot of people taking notice and even wanting to by gold.
I'm not to the point in my financial journey where investing is my main focus, but I do have to wonder if now is the best time to buy. We've all heard the saying "buy low and sell high", and with gold at record high's I worry about the market dropping out from under it. Some strategists say that it should continue to rise over the next 10 years so perhaps I'm wrong.
Only time will tell. I won't claim to be an expert on anything including investing so we'll just have to wait and see.
Hot Time in Boston
Apparently the Boston marathon is going to be a hot one today. They are talking about 88 degree temperatures by 2pm. The race organizers are so concerned that they asked people to consider running next year instead. My guess is that few took them up on the offer. Too hard to say where your training will be next year and the weather could be worse.
Praying that everyone makes it through ok.
A friend from work is running and as of this writing is about half way done. Go Bob Go!
