Books

Have you ever wondered if people set out to write textbooks or if their books just turn into them because they become so packed with info that they are no longer interesting to read? Programming textbooks definitely fall into this category I think. There are plenty of programming books that are easy and enjoyable to read but also provide good info. The rest become textbooks. I'm guessing that students become the only market since they are forced to buy them so the profs get a kickback for picking the book and wa-la. Or maybe not.

One More Time

As I said below, I can't stand diet pills. They fool people into thinking that they can cure all their problems without doing any work. They didn't gain weight quickly and without work so why would they think that it could be lost that way? I know the easy way out has it's allure, and in this day and time, is sometimes a reality, but when it comes to your weight, there is just no way around the hard work. I also can't stand run-on sentences, but that is a story for another post.

Cycling

My fitness regiment always seems ebb and flow. Most of that is on purpose but not all. Injuries play a part which is why I haven't worked out for a few weeks, but sometimes it's my plan. My plan over the fall and winter was to lift heavy and add some muscle, which was working pretty well, although not as well as I would have liked since my body tended to break down and left me constantly trying to recover from small injuries. My plan then was to cut fat and show off the muscle I had built. I'm starting that a bit earlier than I had planned due to the strain the heavy lifting was putting on me so hopefully it will work out. I have already lost about 7 pounds, and hopefully it wasn't mostly muscle which is my fear, but you'll notice that I did not mention using a diet pill, because they aren't necessary.

Fruit Trees

At first fruit trees in your yard might sound like a great idea. It always does to me until I think about all the rotten fruit hanging around my yard in the fall. Apple trees, cherry trees, Persimmon trees, and many more make for a pretty yard, and some nice homemade pies but I just think that the mess would ultimately prove itself to be more annoying than the pies are tasty. I could be wrong on that but so far, that has been my deterrent. What do you think?

See?

We recently had to buy a new pair of eyeglasses for my wife. To move off topic for a moment, who still says "eyeglasses"? Doesn't everyone just say "glasses" now? Just curious. Anyway, we had to buy a new pair because her prescription was about 7 years old. Thankfully our insurance covered most of it and we didn't have to pay more than about $100 I think. I'm guessing that that is a pretty good price but I don't know. What do you guys think? Was that pretty good? Drop me a line and let me know.

Money

I have always been looking for a way to have a home based business. Unfortunately most of the options you'll find are all scams. "For $4,000 up front you'll be making millions in no time!!", and the like. So for now I've found a few ways to make a couple extra bucks here and there but nothing substantial. I keep hoping I will come up with an idea at some point but I'm just not sure if I'm the type of person that has those ideas. Or if I do, I don't have the resources to implement them. So if you come across a good idea and want to share drop me a line.
