Fat Guy Coming Home

The fat guy was headed home for the night. He had had a long hard day and was in the mood for some serious couch time. Sometimes you just need to hold down the furniture for a while. You never know when gravity might take the day off and BOOM, you have to buy a new sofa. (and roof)

So he made his way up the street to his house. He couldn't wait to hear his dog greet him in the usual way. "Bark, Bark, Bark", which of course meant "walk in tubs". His dog never had much tact, but thankfully the fat guy had no idea what it was saying.

What is it?

Another edition of what in the world is it?

Today we are trying to figure out what in the world a Patek twenty-4 is.

Normally I have an initial guess, but today, not so much. I have no clue what a Patek is and it doesn't even sound related anything I've ever heard of. I also have to wonder at the thought behind spelling out half of a number and then using the actual digit for the other half.

Maybe it's what a day is called in some other country or perhaps it's the name of some distant galaxy. "A new planet was discovered today in the nebula known as the Patek twenty-4".

So what is it really? Apparently it's a watch retailer. I guess that makes sense.

Here Comes My Sister

My little sister is getting married tomorrow. It's hard to believe that we are both old enough for that type of thing. Time does go fast. bridal shower invitations are long gone.

The rehearsal dinner is tonight and I really hope our girls cooperate and walk down the aisle. They are supposed to be the flower girls and I'm worried about it as the wedding will be right during my youngest daughter's nap time.

I think it will be really cool if they do it. I was in a wedding when I was their age and I thought it was soo cool, so hopefully they will too.

Investors

Have you ever wondered why some financial guys are called futures broker? Seems to me that being broke in the future is not the kind of message you would want to send to your potential clients, but as these guys make plenty of money, I'm guessing they get around that somehow.

Personally I would love to have the money to play around with investments but from what I can tell, none of the really smart people actually gamble much with the market. They take the good guaranteed returns and let them compile on each other.

Sounds like fun.

Golf Season

It's almost that time of year and I'm excited. Two weeks from tonight I finally get to tee it up in my weekly league again. I haven't had any time to practice this spring so I'm a little worried but I'm hoping my game will pick up where I left off last year. I don't foresee there being a speaker mount in the middle of the fairway so I should be fine.

My putting and driving were greatly improved this past season so I hope that they are good again and that I can add some really good iron play to that. It would be great to have all three working at the same time.

Rent?

Have you ever wished that you could rent a 747? Me neither, but I heard about something called Branson rentals the other day, and if it's what I think it is, you might be able to. It probably isn't what I think it is but why spoil a good thought with the truth. I imagine it would be expensive to rent a plane that large, and I wonder if it would include the pilot and fuel? I would have to imagine that buying a ticket would still be the better way to go. If you could afford to rent a plane you could probably also afford to just buy one, so why bother. Anyway, an interesting thought.
