REAL Fiction

Troy Smith lined up behind the center once again. The Cardinals set up their defense half-heartedly. At this point the game was in hand, and he could start to enjoy the moment. He called out a few nondescript signals and then took the snap and handed off to Adrian Peterson who ran for about 4 yards. More importantly, the clock was now under a minute, and the end was now inevitable.

Fans all over Ohio were going crazy. Even Marty had to be smiling somewhere in San Diego. The Browns had finally done what their fans had been waiting for for over 40 years. Win a Super Bowl.

The 2007 draft had netted the team an amazing crop of stars, including Troy himself, who turned out to be a steal in the 4th round. No one had wanted him after his fall from grace in Arizona, but he had proven that he was a winner and the NFL game was not beyond him.

More importantly to Browns fans, they had faced down the cursed Broncos again in the AFC Championship game, but this time there was no fumble and no drive. The final score was 44 - 17 as the Browns showed them no mercy.

As the clocked expired and the confetti began to fall, there was only one person Troy wanted to hug. The man that had given him this shot and believed in him when no one else did. He found Bill Cowher running towards him chin extended and clearly pleased to be adding to his ring total. They embraced in a huge bear hug as the cheers from the frustrated Browns fans from around the world shook their emotions.

They had done it.
