What vote?

Frankly, I’ve never been more discouraged about an election. Obama despite his stance has done virtually nothing to help the environment (other than too little too late mpg standards and restrictions on new coal power plants that don’t apply to the existing ones), and I don’t trust his ability to stabilize the country’s finances. And don’t even get me started on his stance on abortion.

Romney is a climate denier and friend of big fossil fuel companies which immediately turns my stomach.  I can't vote for someone who has their head in the sand and doesn't make informed unbiased decisions.

I don’t feel like I can vote in good conscious for either guy and yet I know that one of them will end up leading our nation for the next 4 years.

Buying Time

For some reason I have a thing for clocks.  I love clocks and watches and love to have them around.  I don't have as many as I'd like though because they are so expensive.  There are lots that I would like to get if I someday had the disposable income.  Some I know more about than others, for instance I don't know a lot about joe rodeo watches but they definitely have a cool name.

I seem to go back and forth when it comes to wearing watches as they tend to bother me over time.  I love the way they look but I don't love wearing accessories of any kind so I don't always stick to it.  Despite that, I will probably still buy them from time to time.

LOL

What a Stark Contrast!
A Stark Contrast

Bzzzzzz

I saw an article the other day about a 10 foot tall bee hive hidden inside a wall.  There was even a video showing the guys working to remove it.  Definitely not a job I would want.  Bees are nasty business to be sure, but also very necessary in the grand scheme of things.  I've heard it said that if we didn't have bees a lot of the plants would not be able to pollinate.

The hive was so large, getting back to that, that they showed a guy down the street swatting away bees.  I guess the slane bee was really on the move to get that far away.

AV

I remember a time when all you had to know about audio video cables was that the red one plugged into the red hole and the yellow one plugged into the yellow hole etc.

Needless to say it's gotten a bit more complicated than that over the years.  There are a lot of options and some cost a lot more than others.

Some have even said that it's a waste of money to buy the expensive cables so I don't know what to believe anymore.

I will probably just stick with what I have unless a good reason to switch presents itself.

Election Quandry

I have no idea who I want to win this election.  Obama is pro abortion and Romney doesn't think global warming is real.  Could we please get a third option?

I don't think I'm going to vote, and before you jump all over me about that, know that I am exercising my right to choose, my right to choose NEITHER.  I don't want to be associated with having voted for either of these guys.  To me that is an endorsement and neither of them are candidates that I would endorse.

Drums

My son loves his drums.  So much in fact that he needs a new set.  He has completely worn out and destroyed the ones he had.  Perhaps a set of drums is in his future?

To be honest we haven't really talked about it yet, but we should look into getting him a new set.  He really enjoyed playing them and I think that music is a good thing for kids to get into because it teaches so many other good skills in the process.

It will be fun to watch as he gets older if this is something he sticks with or if he moves on to other things.

Youth Sports

When I was a kid I was more into baseball than I am now.  Well, the cards at least. I still didn't follow the sport all that much.  I would get baseball gifts of cards and still have all of them.  Unfortunately they aren't worth anything at this point but maybe my great great great great grandchildren will be able to make a little money on them someday.

I was far more into football as a fan, but never chose to play the sport.  I was a runner and despite loving to run I never really followed the sport itself.  Clearly it was harder to that in those days before the internet but that point remains.
