Some people like
Vegas vacations, some people like beach vacations, some people like restful vacations, and others like working vacations. I personally enjoy anything that allows me to experience new things while balancing rest and adventure. I need a little of both, but if it had to lean one way I would pick the adventure over the rest. Some of my best vacations were ones that I returned more tired than when I left. I guess it's good that we all like different things or else we'd all end up at the same hotel every year.

My wife has decided to get some new
eyeglasses. She wears contacts mostly but the glasses come in handy sometimes and she hasn't had a new pair in quite some time. In the process of talking about this we realized that sometimes people can be too much of a perfectionist or competitor in some situations. For example, you might try really hard to do better on an eye exam than you really should by making guesses, which in the end results in a net loss for you because your glasses would then not be as strong as they needed to be. I admit though, it is hard to be wrong even when that is the best thing for you.

I really hope that my kids don't end up with the acne issues that I did. It wasn't good for me at all and I was near the end of college before I had a clearish face. I definitely don't miss those days at all. At least the
acne treatment options that are available now are a lot better. Our kids will definitely get some help if they end up having the same type of problems. Of course our kids all have such different skin that it might be only a one or two of them. I'm still pulling for none, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.
The 'Ween
The other day we were discussing what Brock should be for Halloween this year. We have two older girls so this is our first experience with picking out a
Halloween costume for a boy. I naturally suggested a Rock Star, but my wife didn't seem too keen on the idea. As long as it is something manly while still being appropriately cute, it will be fine. I just don't want him looking at these pictures down the road and saying, "Seriously Dad, how did THAT happen?". So we'll see, the cow isn't in the barn just yet.
