Again!?!?!?!
Have you tried a
diet pill that works? Do you know someone that has? I'd love to hear about it. I haven't but I am interested in learning more about them from an academic standpoint. I'm curious about how they work and the affects, both long and short term, that they have on people. I want to hear about successes and failures and whatever else you can tell me. Feel free to drop me a comment and tell me all about your experience. I'm sure there is a wide variety of info out there an I 'm curious to discover any common themes.
Question
I still see
diet pills all over the consumer market. How do they work? Are they mostly appetite suppressants, or are they drugs that don't allow your body to use the calories you ingest? I honestly have no idea how they work and those are just two possibilities. Do you have any info on what makes these things tick? What has your experience been? Do you have a brand that worked for you or maybe one that didn't? Drop me a comment and let me know. I'm curious to study these things more.
Tea
I have never been into coffee. I like the smell of it but I have never really liked the taste. I definitely prefer tea pots over coffee makers. I like a lot of different teas as well. I like iced tea, normal lipton black tea, and green tea. Green tea is probably my favorite just because I feel really healthy for drinking it. I have tried some others as well and have liked them but the only one that I have not liked at all was Earl Gray. My apologies to Captain Picard. It tasted like liquod pepper. Not a good flavor for me really.
Clothes
So we went shopping for clothes yesterday for vacation. This time it was my turn. It was really nice to get some new stuff but I always hate doing that for myself. I know I need new clothes but I hate spending the money and I always feel bad making my family stand around while I shop. Plus we couldn't find much on
sale so I didn't get as much for my money as I would have liked. In the end I was pretty happy with the haul. The stuff I got should last me a while and I won't look like a homeless beggar for a while. I just hope it didn't set us back too much.
Dollah's
I recently attempted
balance transfers only to find out that I wasn't allowed. Apparently when you put money into a 401k at work, you can't touch it all until you quit. Even if you just want to transfer it to a private account with a broker. The only way you can take money out is to show that you need it for some hardship, preferably a mortgage issue. It looks right not like we may have found another way to solve that problem, or at least most of it. Hopefully we will because it has been bugging me for quite a long time.
Mid-Evil
Yes I know it isn't really spelled like that, save your emails. I just like being different. I'm reading a book in that ilk right now and despite the obvious geekiness of doing that I do enjoy stories like that quite a bit. I'm not talking
corsets and wizards and what not but it's close. For my part I have read a lot of nonfiction this year as well. I am trying to be more well rounded and intellectual as I get older. But as much as I love Bill Bryson, you can only read so much of one author back to back. This will keep my busy for a bit and then I will find something else.
New Truck
Gas is out of control right now. I know plenty of people including my own family that have made changes to account for this. At one point we had two cars that both took only premium gas. We traded one in, partly for that reason and partly because we needed more seating. My Dad is in the same boat now. They have an old dodge
ram that has been a good truck for a long time but it's getting harder for them to deal with the fuel for an old 8 cylinder truck. I'm sure most people are making similar decisions right now. From a conservative approach, nothing better could have happened for the planet. People are trying hard to minimize gas use which is what the green folks have been preaching for years.
