The Congo

I was just reading yesterday about the Congo river. Sounds like a place that you may not want to visit, travel guides or not. Just the list of dangerous fauna was enough to have me thinking twice and that doesn't even count the murderous cannibal tribes that can still be found near it's waters. They even said that at some points the river is 10 miles wide! I can't fathom that and I honestly wonder if it's a misprint. If not, then that is huge. Way huge. Funny thing is, it's still only the second longest river on the continent of Africa. I wonder if it's "in de-nile", about that?

And Another One

I once heard about a Starbucks that was right outside of a kroger that also contained a Starbucks. Seems like a bit much but remember that Starbucks aren't franchise places, the company decides where each one goes and apparently these two neighborly shops are successful because they provide different things to different people. I guess that's why their rich and I'm not. I would have thought that the one outside the kroger would have been plenty but what do I know.

Memory

It has been a long time since I've done a ram upgrade on a computer. My hardware days are well behind me at this point. I don't even worry about laptop memory or anything. I'm sure that at some point I will have to mess with all that again but I'm not terribly worried about it. As far as computer upgrades go, it's one of the easiest. A lot easier that changing out a component or upgrading an operation system. I haven't even checked prices in a while. I don't even know if memory is cheap or expensive right now.

Yard Work

Some people really understand garden decor. Like my mom and dad for instance. Their yard always looks impeccably manicured. I never really found that I had the knack for that. My wife did a good job of making our yard at the old house look pretty nice but I just never had a clue. Other than mowing I was pretty lost at how to make that happen. More than likely, if left to my own devices, I probably wouldn't even try. I really have to feel like I know how to do something to even attempt it in most cases. Perhaps I need to have a more adventurous attitude.

Old Rappers

Sometimes I think that it's pretty funny to see some of the jewelry that rappers wear. Do you wonder if they will change their habits as they get older or just start pimping out their medical jewelry? Platinum red cross bracelets and a giant clock around your neck that goes off when it's time to take more pills. A funny thought at least. As I get older, I sometimes wonder about the things that I once thought were pretty fashionable so I imagine these guys will get the same clue eventually. You never know though.
